About Us
James Sleeman
James is part of a dedicated community of behavioural vision care practitioners who work with functional and developmental optometric care. He has been fortunate to count many ACBO and OEP optometrists as mentors, both locally in Australia and from overseas.
He is committed to independent optometry and to finding practical visual solutions for patients, combining behavioural vision care with thorough primary eye care.
Sources he draws on include behavioural optometry, ophthalmology, syntonic light therapy, metabolic health and circadian research. Complex presentations (visual processing difficulties, sensory overload after acquired brain injury, binocular vision instability, visual change with ageing or metabolic load etc) are approached holistically, as systems problems, rather than isolated refractive errors.
He works on the assumption that multidisciplinary care and an open mind matter, and that healthy ageing is best supported by analysing systems and restoring function, rather than treating isolated symptoms.
