About The Course

This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The course requires the student to demonstrate personal awareness, skills related to health and safety legislation necessary to work safely on a construction site, how to identify onsite risks and hazards and the appropriate controls to implement, and how to prevent injury or harm to self and others.

The student assessment requires the student to orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

It’s important to note that although this course Is Nationally Accredited, completion of this course with Academia does not result in issuing a General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).

Via Connected Real Time Delivery (CRTD) live streamed video attendance, accessible for those outside of a 100km radius*

*Students are required to provide their own PPE when completing via CRTD. Further information is provided during the pre-qualification call and throughout email communications and classroom reminders. A PPE list will be provided at the time of enrolment and all students can seek assistance when purchasing these items.
